Christopher R. Pozzi previously served nearly 20 years in prison for killing a four-month-old infant he slammed on a couch while high on cocaine, the outlet said citing the Tampa Bay Times.

Pozzi, 51, was arrested in West Deptford after a woman living at Forrest Creek Apartments Complex allegedly witnessed the animal abuse in September on her doorbell camera, the outlet reported.

The cat, named Eileen, required an approximately six-week stay at Pitman Animal Hospital and treatment for several jaw fractures following the incident but has since found a new and loving home.
